In 1971 a group of physicians, led by Dr. Eduardo R. dela Cruz a cardiologist and Past President of Philippine Medical Association, formed SLI (Sydenham Laboratories, Inc.) with a mission focused on providing effective, efficacious and high quality pharmaceutical products that doctors can confidently prescribe to their patients & families. SYDENHAM Laboratories, Inc. derives its name from one of the great British physicians, Dr. Thomas Sydenham known as the English Hippocrates, the founder of clinical medicine and an advocate of effective management of illness that emphasized detailed observation and maintained records of patient.

The Department of Health thru – The FOOD and DRUG ADMINISTRATION and National Center for Pharmaceutical Access and Management (NCPAM) awarded SLI the certificates of recognition for:

•   Achieving Compliance to CURRENT GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES (cGMP) consistent for the years 2003 – 2011
•   Distinction – For being socially responsive to the needs of the Filipino people by manufacturing affordable and quality Generic       drugs.

Given the 8^th day of September 2011 during the 2^nd Generics Medicines Summit (part of Generics Month Celebration) in Quezon City.
